A 2007 honor graduate of Orchard Park High School and a sophomore at Geneseo State College, Lindsay excelled in both academics and athletics. Tragically, in November of 2008, Lindsay died from injuries sustained after being struck by a tractor trailer as she walked on a road near campus. Lindsay was only 19.

Lindsay was a bright, beautiful, caring person with a promising future. A gifted student and an outstanding soccer player, Lindsay loved her family and friends more than anything. She will be remembered most for her warm smile and devoted heart. If you were a friend of Lindsay, you were a friend for life and beyond.

A great deal of Lindsay’s spare time was spent helping the needy and using sports to teach kids life lessons. Always, right to the end, she spent life doing for others. As such, her parents granted her long-standing request to donate several of her organs. Lindsay Matthews kept her heart after spending 19 years giving it away.

The benefit will serve two purposes: to offset expenses Lindsay’s family incurred from this tragic event and to raise funds for donations to various charities close to their heart
